margarks: After glow?

Continued from here.

Cool air rushed over Wesley's form and made him shiver. He blinked sleepy eyes back open and searched the darkened room for Giles as he pulled the covers back up. "Love? Come back to bed." Wesley called softly.

Despite Wesley's body pressed against him Giles felt suddenly cold. "Then why is it I feel you're simply making excuses?"

"Rupert, no," Wesley immediately denied, sitting up so that he could more easily see Giles' face. "Of course I want to tell them. I do. And I want you with me. I suppose I... well, I do feel a little as if it's something that should be done in person since Angel and others are more like family than friends. But of course, I know that's not possible at the moment."

Wesley sighed, reaching for Giles' hand and twining their fingers together. "I'm sorry if I gave you that impression."

"You've seemed rather . . . hesitant."

Giles could have describe himself in the same manner at that moment. He wasn't entirely certain he could take Wesley at his word.

"I know and I'm sorry, love." Wesley wasn't entirely sure how to explain himself. "I want you to know that I do want to tell them. I'd love to tell them. I suppose it's just that I feel... well, a bit guilty to have found such happiness when Angel is in the midst of something so terrible."

Wesley hoped that Giles would understand. "I wanted to tell them tonight, but I... I guess I just needed your support and when I couldn't find you... I thought another time might be better."

It did make sense. They were in a relationship, of course Wesley would want him there when he told the others. It was something they should do together, just as they had with Giles' own friends. However, something in him was still resisting it and for no reason he could discern.

"You make a point," Giles conceded, at least aloud. "Together then."

"I'm sorry, Rupert." Wesley repeated, not knowing what else to say to ease Giles' mind.
