margarks: After glow?

Continued from here.

Cool air rushed over Wesley's form and made him shiver. He blinked sleepy eyes back open and searched the darkened room for Giles as he pulled the covers back up. "Love? Come back to bed." Wesley called softly.

Wesley knew he'd probably said the wrong thing, but what was he to do, lie?

"It's just after... after the day we'd had, and the... the argument... " Wesley shook his head. "I'm sorry, Giles. I know how you feel about it. But knowing that you needed me that much, that intensely... well, it made me feel, I don't know, better, I suppose."

That much, at least, Giles could understand.

"But if I hadn't been that . . . aggressive? If it had been more . . ." Giles groped for word but couldn't come up with one. ". . . as it usually is between us. Would you have not felt better?"

"Of course I would... I," Wesley wasn't sure what he was supposed to say. He couldn't help the way he felt, and he knew Giles couldn't either. "I love you, Rupert. I only wanted to know that you weren't still upset, that... that we were all right." Wesley frowned. "I'm sorry. I know how you hate my doubting insecurities."

"I seem to have a few of my own. I worry that I can't give you something that you . . . you seem to need from me. And yet . . ." Giles laughed mirthlessly. "I seem to keep giving it to you regardless."

"No, love," Wesley rose on one elbow so that he could look down into Giles' eyes. "All I need is you. I'm sorry if I made you think otherwise. But I don't want you to believe that there's anything we've done together that I regret. Because there isn't. And I wish that you wouldn't either. I enjoy your aggressiveness, but if we were never to make love like that again, I wouldn't complain so long as I still had you." Wesley blushed and ducked his head when he realized how fanciful and effeminate his words had been.
