margarks: After glow?
Continued from here
Cool air rushed over Wesley's form and made him shiver. He blinked sleepy eyes back open and searched the darkened room for Giles as he pulled the covers back up. "Love? Come back to bed." Wesley called softly.

"I'll be right back," Giles murmured, slipping quietly down the stairs. His eyes fell on Connor when he reached the bottom. The child was sleeping, blissfully unaware despite the rough fucking that'd been happening just upstairs. Giles' eyes skittered away, not quite able to look at him.
He'd been angry with Wesley. He'd been horny all day. He'd taken part of that earlier anger out on him through sex.
Oh yes, and wasn't that a delightful precedent to be setting?
Giles ran a ragged hand through his hair before cleaning himself up and collecting a warm wash cloth for Wesley.

Thought Wesley was bordering on exhaustion, he still sensed the pensive tenseness to Giles' movements upon his return. He accepted the wet cloth with a soft 'thank you', then tossed it toward the clothes hamper in the corner. He wasn't usually so off hand, but he was anxious to return his focus to Giles.
"Is everything all right, Rupert?" Wesley asked, remembering Giles' upset with their previous bout of aggressive lovemaking.

Giles settled in besides him, any anger he'd had at Wesley had completely vanished in the face of his . . . behaviour.
"I don't know," he said with too much honesty. Too tired, perhaps, to be censoring his tongue.

"At the current rate you'll probably get to enjoy fucking like that again tomorrow." Giles heard himself and grimaced. "Sorry."
Sun, Jan. 22nd, 2006 06:09 am (UTC)
Wesley nearly cringed at Giles' tactless words. It wasn't that he was opposed to the wording, only that he sounded so harsh and... unfamiliar. "Why don't we get some sleep, love? Perhaps it's just been an overly long day for the both of us?"
Sun, Jan. 22nd, 2006 04:13 pm (UTC)
"Perhaps," Giles conceded, though he hardly thought his sexual behaviour of late could simply be chalked up to a long day.
He pulled Wesley closer to him, wanting the warmth of his body, his presence. He felt . . . cold.

Giles muttered something completely unintelligible and attempted to muffle the baby's cries by throwing the pillow over top his head.

"Hello, love." Welsey greeted Connor as he lifted him from the playpen. "Hungry are we?" He smiled as the baby sniffled and rubbed his wet nose across Wesley's shoulder.
Wesley made his way to the kitchen with the baby in his arms wondering when he should begin teaching Connor to sleep through the night. He was already eating soft foods and was probably at the right age.
It didn't take long to heat the bottle he'd prepared earlier and soon they were sitting in the living room in the quiet darkness, the only sounds the soft slurping as the baby fed.

Even after Connor's cries had quieted, Giles found that sleep continued to elude him. He stared up at the ceiling, hands propped beneath his head, not really seeing it at all.

"I know you do. Anyone would." Giles raised a hand and ran it through Wesley's hair.

Wesley sighed. "I'm sorry, Rupert. I know I keep whinging over the same things. Things neither of us can do anything about."

"It's all right. I know it's hard for you. And for Angel."
They were quiet for a time and Giles continued his gentle stroking.
"Wes, if you'd like to go back to sleep, please feel free. There's no need for you to stay up just because I can't shut off my mind."

Despite Wesley's body pressed against him Giles felt suddenly cold. "Then why is it I feel you're simply making excuses?"
Fri, Feb. 3rd, 2006 04:51 am (UTC)
"Rupert, no," Wesley immediately denied, sitting up so that he could more easily see Giles' face. "Of course I want to tell them. I do
. And I want you with me. I suppose I... well, I do feel a little as if it's something that should be done in person since Angel and others are more like family than friends. But of course, I know that's not possible at the moment."
Wesley sighed, reaching for Giles' hand and twining their fingers together. "I'm sorry if I gave you that impression."
Fri, Feb. 3rd, 2006 04:59 am (UTC)
"You've seemed rather . . . hesitant."
Giles could have describe himself in the same manner at that moment. He wasn't entirely certain he could take Wesley at his word.
